Raleigh Criminal Attorney Defends Cases from Every Possible Angle
As criminal defense attorneys we generally don’t see people who perpetrate crimes as bad people, most often they simply express poor judgment, especially when they let their emotions get in the way of rational thought.
But sometimes people just have a way of coming up with the most senseless ideas.
In Nashville, N.C., police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred at the Nash County Courthouse that left two people wounded. According to news website abc11.com, two brothers were arrested and charged in the incident. Below is an excerpt from their report:
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office now has two brothers in custody for the alleged shooting of two people outside the courthouse in Nashville Tuesday.
Demond Levar Morris, 36, and Brandon Tremaine Morris, 31, of Rocky Mount are charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The older brother was arrested late Wednesday in Raleigh, and the second brother turned himself in Thursday morning.
“They are both cooperating,” said Nash County Sheriff Dick Jenkins.
Donte’a Evans and Lamar Ricks were shot just after 11 a.m. Tuesday on the front porch of the courthouse. One was shot in the left shoulder. The second was shot in the hand and twice in the leg. Both are recovering at Vidant Medical Center. Sheriff Jenkins said their condition was stable.
Now, as an experienced Raleigh criminal lawyer I can say with much certainty that the county courthouse is not best place to try to shoot someone.
On any given day, the courthouse is going to be filled with all types of law enforcement officials—from sheriff’s deputies, to transport officers, to officers testifying in court, etc. Consequently, bringing a firearm to a courthouse—much less discharging it—really is a bad idea.
Criminal lawyers understand poor judgment. And they will defend your case from every possible angle. If you ever find yourself charged with a crime, you may want to contact a Raleigh criminal attorney immediately.
